UK elder emo. We could stop there. London-based and fully independent, Grant Morriss makes home-brewed pop-punk and 2000s-inspired alternative rock for people who grew up on loud guitars and never grew out of them. A multi-instrumentalist, Grant writes, plays and records everything himself. Built around big hooks, rough edges and singalong choruses, his songs carry the energy of the records he loved first time around. Drums usually put up the biggest fight. BBC Radio Manchester described his music as “infectious, energetic and upbeat”. Support from RADAR: Next Gen, The Alt Radar and independent music press, alongside live appearances including an opening slot for Kasabian, have helped Grant build a loyal following. Grant releases new music every four to six weeks and plays live across the UK and internationally. He isn’t trying to relive his twenties. He just doesn’t see why growing older should mean turning the guitars down. Official website: www.grantmorriss.com
